84th Annual Dogwood Arts and Music Festival: This year, the Dogwood Art and Music Festival, 315 W. Oak St. in Palestine, will feature over 20 artists with a free and VIP version of the event. The VIP event will take place on Friday from 5-8:30 p.m. and will feature artists with works for sale, a meet-and-greet and more. The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and will include art booths and access to the art tent. Bowers Mansion Ghost Hunt: Built in 1878, the Bowers Mansion, 301 S. Magnolia Palestine, is one of the most historic homes in Palestine and will be open for ghost tour from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday. In the 1950s, the owner murdered his wife in the house and then committed suicide. Some believe that the spirits still linger there. In addition to the house, there are also other buildings on the property to explore. Book sale: The Tyler Public Library, 201 S. College Ave. in Tyler, is hosting a one-day-only book sale from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. All funds raised from the sale will be used to help the library purchase replacement copies of materials, repair items, and other needs. Hardbacks will be $1, paperbacks 50 cents, audiobooks $2, CDs and DVDs $1. After 3 p.m., items can be purchased by the bag for $5 or by the box for $10.

2022 East Texas Auto & Cycle Show: Come to the 32nd Annual East Texas Auto and Cycle Show to benefit the East Texas Crisis Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Green Acres Baptist Church, 1607 Too Hwy. to Tyler. There will be food trucks, vendors, a kids’ zone and live music at the event. A 1967 Viper Red Mustang will also be raffled off.
Violin zoo for children: Bring your kids to an Instrument Petting Zoo from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Tyler’s First Presbyterian Church, 230 W. Rusk St. in Tyler. The event is for children of all ages and comes and goes. There will be music-themed games, a story hour with an orchestra, a meeting with the artists of Net Texas Sinfonia and live performances.
