The Great Amherst Mystery – The Hunt for the Haunted


It’s time for the first 2022 episode of the Paranormal Network video series haunted huntand in this one our paranormal investigators tackle the story of The Great Amherst Mystery, a notorious Canadian poltergeist case that took place in Amherst, Nova Scotia, all the way back in 1878. This haunting got so much publicity that it attracted a man named Walter Hubbell, who held a diary of the paranormal activity he witnessed – a diary which was later expanded and published as a book which sold at least 55,000 copies. Both combine their knowledge of hauntings and paranormal investigations with well-known and lesser-known reports of haunted people, places and things. The show dissects everything from The Amityville Haunting and The Enfield Poltergeist to cases Peter has investigated during his 27 years in the field. Jason and Peter also discuss other aspects of the paranormal, including equipment, hoaxes, and natural explanations for alleged activity.
